IEO COMPETITION

IEO 2027 Competition brings together Indonesia’s brightest minds to apply their critical thinking skills in a policy-making competition and to provide a unique policy-making experience for students interested in the government and public policy sector. This year, IEO will be hosting two competitions:

Policy recommendation Competition

IEO ’27 Policy Recommendation Competition brings together Indonesia’s brightest minds to apply their writing, presenting, and debating skills in a policy-making competition. Participants will make a Policy Recommendation Essay, present the essay, and participate in a policy debate.

The Policy Recommendation Essay is the preliminary stage of IEO ’27 Policy Recommendation Competition where the Participants make an essay based on the chosen subtheme.

Policy Recommendation Presentation

23 November 2026

The Policy Recommendation Presentation is the first round in the final stage of IEO ’27 Policy Recommendation Competition in which the Finalist will present their policy recommendation essay to judges from esteemed institutions.

Policy Recommendation Debate

24 November 2026

The Policy Recommendation Debate is the second round in the final stage of IEO ’27 Policy Recommendation Competition. Each team will be assigned to debate issues related to the event’s themes

Policy Case Study Competition

IEO ’27 Policy Case Study challenges participants to implement their critical thinking skills to solve an economic case study problem. Participants will be expected to make a Policy Memo & Video regarding the case. The video duration is 5-7 minutes and will be uploaded on IEO ’26 Instagram and Youtube channel (There will be no Question and Answer Session).

Policy Memo

The Policy Memo is the preliminary stage of IEO ’27 Policy Case Study. In this stage, each team will make a policy memo based on the case study given.

Policy video

The Video Policy Case Study is the final round of IEO ’27 Policy Case Study. In this stage, each team will make a video based on Policy Memo that been made.
